We use “ли” to turn a statement into a question, and we insert it after the part of the sentence we want to emphasize and before the verb ‘to be’ (съм/си/ е/ сме/ сте/ са). See the examples below:
Тя е тук.
Тя тук лие? (Is she here?)
Тук лие тя? (Is she here? – emphasis on here)
Тя лие тук? (Is shehere? – emphasis on she)
