Once you learn the numbers from 1 to 10, the larger numbers follow a logical pattern. Most have two interchangeable forms (e.g. единадесет– единайсет, шестдесет– шейсет). The shorter one is more commonly used, but the longer one shows the logic behind the word formation as it contains десет(10).

Here are some examples of how larger numbers are formed:
двадесет(20) и(and) едно(1) = 21
тридесет(30) и(and) четири(4) = 34
петдесет(50) и(and) шест(6) = 56
седемдесет(70) и(and) девет(9) = 79
сто(100) и(and) две(2) = 102
сто(100) и(and) петнадесет(15) = 115
сто(100) двадесет(20) и(and) три(3) = 123
двеста(200) осемдесет(80) и(and) пет(5) = 285
триста(300) четиридесет(40) и(and) седем(7) = 347
шестстотин(600) и(and) десет(10) = 610
